This five day bike tour is for chateau lovers who want to go off the beaten track. Pedal along the Loire River, spotting terns and ospreys. Cycle through the Chambord game reserve, meet a stag or a boar and visit the largest castle in the Loire Valley. Surprise awaits you every minute with Cheverny’s 120 dogs and Beauregard’s portrait gallery, a chateau for real amateurs. Evenings in guest houses, just what you need to meet locals, to relax, sipping your cool glass of Chardonnay under the linden trees.

Day 1: Blois to Chateau guest house, 16kms.

 Meet in Blois.
We provide you with quality bicycle, detailed maps, complete flat tire set, helmets, entrance tickets to tour the Loire Valley chateaux of Chambord, Beauregard and Cheverny Castles, vouchers for hotels and other services in the tour, itineraries, maps, emergency phone for assistance.

You are welcome to take a short ride around the hotel for final bike adjustments.
For assistance during your tour, you may contact us 7 days a week on our emergency line.

Depending on your arrival time in Blois, we highly recommend you the visit of the Royal castle.

The Chateau de Blois is unique by its combination of four architectural styles: Gothic, Flamboyant, Renaissance and Classic. Built by Counts of Blois, Louis XII, Francois I and Louis XIII, this chateau keeps the souvenir of many well-known historical events.
This ancient city with a rich historical part merits to be visited. In the XVIth century Blois was the capital of France, under the king Louis XII. You can stroll through the old town, along its paved side-streets.

You are welcome by Veronique de Caix in her Guest House. From the windows of that 18th chateau, enjoy the view on the pool or smell the vintage roses. Have an aperitif under the linden trees along the lane or by the green house and its captivating wisteria.
In the evening, special treat with traditional dinner prepared by Veronique herself, drinks included.

Day 2: World famous Château de Chambord, 35 km loop.

Chambord was the first Chateau of the Valley to be proclaimed by UNESCO as a world heritage. It was ordered in 1519 by King Francis 1st to his architects with the presumed help of his friend Leonardo Da Vinci.
With its 400 rooms and over 300 chimneys, Chambord is a jewel of the French Renaissance.

You can choose to pedal through Blois (and tour the Royal Castle if you have not done so on day 1 or you can go directly to Beauregard).

Beauregard was Francois 1st’s meeting place for the hunt.
You discover the Gallerie des Portraits, displaying 327 portraits of great French People (kings, queens, favorites, ministers etc…) and its exceptional Delft tiling. Don’t miss the Jardin des Portraits (garden of Portraits), an enclosed garden designed by Gilles Clément, made of a series of groves, each one being planted with single color flowers (the green grove, the black grove, the yellow grove, etc), and echoing the Gallery in the Chateau.

In the XVIIth century, Cheverny was the first chateau incarnating the classic style in the Loire Valley. Built by the governor of Blois city, this chateau is known by the richness of its interiors which has been kept untapped thanks to its owners – Hurault family. Cheverny presents a magnificent collection of furniture and master paintings from the Renaissance period.

Cheverny and Cour Cheverny wine tasting of 7 wines. The “Cheverny” appellation produces elegant red wines from pinot noir and gamay as well as fruity white wines from chardonnay and sauvignon. You will enjoy this moment to taste a wine for real connoisseurs: the “Cour Cheverny Appellation”, a stunning white wine made from a grape called Romorantin, imported by King François I into the Loire Valley.
